Distant future. The Earth is in the war with alien civilizations for the repartition of the Universe. All the forces have been directed onto the occupation of a strategically important and belligerent planet. But the enemy have done a manoeuvre and split up. And now they're attacking. Thousands of ships and controllable meteoroids are pouncing at the Earth like a bolt from the blue. And there's no one to beat off the attack, no one but you. Your ship is the last one left on the Earth, and you're the only one to stop them. Your main goal in the game Alien Riposte is to destroy as many enemies as possible before they reach the Earth and you must stay alive. Passing from level to level you're going to meet more and more dreadful forces, the attacks are going to become fiercer and fiercer, the enemies are getting more and more dangerous. In the fight with the enemy a whole stack of arms and bonuses are going to help you, and you'll hardly fulfill your mission without them. Alien Riposte is the typical spaceship battle game in which you control one spacecraft and fight against invading aliens. The goal of the game is to destroy as many enemies as possible, avoiding getting killed and stopping any alien spaceship from reaching earth. You start with three lives and with each enemy you destroy you accumulate points and you will be getting new guns and armors to fight. This particular game has nice colorful graphics and great background images. You can choose between two different modes, full screen and windowed. The sound effects are not so great and get a little tiring after a while. It can be played using the keyboard or the mouse. You can compare your scores with the high score list and try to get your name on the top. If you like this kind of games you will like this one, but it gets a little bit boring after a while. Is not a game that you will play for hours but is a nice alternative if you have some spare time. One of the biggest set backs of this version in my opinion is that it does not have a multiplayer mode to play at least with two players at the same time. Alien Riposte is an easy to play game appealing more to younger players but older people can enjoy it too. |
